The Mother of the Groom Janet Rose Growing up in Connecticut, Janet always had aspirations of being an educator. Her mother and stepfather both went on to be college professors at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Janet herself attended the University, and graduated with a degree in elementary education in 1973. Over the next several years she raised three children while taking the occasional substitute teaching job. When Steve's promotion brought the family to Wisconsin, and the kids were all old enough to attend school, Janet began pursuing her dream of a full-time teaching position. In 1986 she began teaching first-grade at Harrison Elementary School in Janesville, Wisconsin, and she would teach there for the next 11 years, moving to third grade for a 12th year before the family relocated to the Green Bay area. Currently Janet is content with her scaled back teaching, as she has returned to the substitute role for the time being. She has not ruled out going back to full-time altogether, however. Janet enjoys golf, tennis, card games, board games, shopping, travelling, and just being with her family. << Back to Bridal Party
